Same day GP appointments, face-to-face, with a highly experienced doctor –sound too good to be true in these difficult times? Dr Farzaneh Mani, based at Garstang Clinic, offers all the things we long for from our NHS surgeries which cannot always be obtained easily in the current climate. Having been an NHS doctor for 12 years, she moved into the private sector in order “to be able to do what you become a doctor to do.” She added: “I am passionate about my job and this allows me to do purely patient care.” You do not need to leave your own NHS GP surgery to access all that her practice can offer. After a 15 minute consultation costing £65, she can prescribe medication for your condition, order more tests privately or refer you into the NHS system or privately for diagnosis and treatment. Longer appointments for reasons such as visa, insurance purposes or health screening, carry higher fees.
Her practice is Care Quality Commission compliant and Dr Mani has a wide range of qualifications, allowing her to offer advice across the healthcare spectrum. She qualified from Liverpool University in 2008, completing her GP training in 2013. She has extensive experience in palliative care, care of the elderly, and women’s and children’s health and successfully completed the Diploma of Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRCOG) and Minor Surgery Course. She also recently completed a course on menopause and HRT and would be happy to see women to give advice. Dr Mani moved into the private sector so she could focus on the patient and their needs rather than admin.
