Myerscough College – Learning about the Land

Myerscough College and University Centre specialises in education and training for the land-based and sports industries.

It teaches more than 20 subjects, including motorsports, golf, football, horticulture and landscaping, animal care and equine studies.  There’s a whole range of other subjects available that will give you the hands-on, practical skills you need to secure the job of your dreams.  They’ve just completed a £30 million campus development, including the opening of a state-of-the-art, multi-million pound Food and Farming Innovation & Technology Centre, the only one of its kind in the UK.

Myerscough is rated in the top three land-based colleges in the UK, with record pass rates for both further and higher education students across the land-based and sport sector.  98% of learners are in employment or further study within six months of graduation, with a student satisfaction rating in excess of 95%.  Their latest OFSTED reports praises “highly effective teaching, setting high expectations and clear priorities to improve quality of provision, and delivering high quality vocational learning that responds to local, regional and national needs.”

Myerscough is the skills provider of choice for students at further, higher and post-grad education level, as well as employers.  It has extensive industry links, from SMEs through to global brands, changing the lives of local people every day.  Substantial apprenticeship provision engages with more than 1,200 employers, supporting around 1,500 learners across key sectors in the county.
