S Atkinson Electrical

From Liverpool FC’s Anfield Stadium, to a small cottage in rural Lancashire, Sean Atkinson is the man for any electrical job.

Growing up in Garstang, Sean headed straight from school to Imtech Engineering Services in Kirkham, where he served a four-year apprenticeship to become a qualified electrician. During his 10-year stint with Imtech, he was involved with leading a team working on the Anfield’s main stand extension. The Trafford Centre’s Barton Square would also not be what it is today without the installation skills of Sean and his team.

Sean, 31, made the move to self-employment just over four years ago in order to “input all the skills acquired into building and maintaining my local community. This is my home area and it is great seeing it grow, I just want to help it grow well!” he said. Self-employment has been a huge success and he took on Oliver Hall, 25, over three years ago as his apprentice, relying purely on word of mouth and without any website or social media.

New builds, barn conversions and Lancaster University’s accommodation are just a few instances of his work. However, smaller jobs in homes are valued just as much. Sean, who is NICEIC-approved, will change a light bulb or a socket, find and correct faults, rewire a property, add outdoor lighting, test and inspect, and everything in between. He also works for local builders such as John Thompson, of Bilsborrow.
