Willows Home Care offer friendly, flexible, and focused support to help people maintain their independence at home and socially, out of the home. They are a team of dedicated, caring staff who can be family, when family can’t be there. Willows provides care in and around the area of Penwortham with clients coming to them on recommendation due to the consistently high standards. Owner Charlotte Wright, 51, completes the initial care needs assessment and starts the visits herself. In this way she gets to know her clients and their family, can suggest appropriate times of visits and ensure sufficient time to complete tasks safely and to a high standard. Once the timings of the visits have been decided you will be carefully matched and introduced to your carers. The Care Plans are individually tailored to specific care needs. “I also get to know the wider families so we can work together to find the right care package, alleviating some of their worry” says Charlotte. Her caring, personal approach to home care has seen her business flourish to the point where she has fifteen carers to meet demand, including daughter Beth, 20, turning Willows into a real family business – something at the heart of all they do.
Mum-of-two Charlotte, who lives in Penwortham, has Care Quality Commission registration, allowing her to offer personal care across the region. Charlotte knows about caring – she was a paramedic for 23 years with the Northwest Ambulance service. Her experience and knowledge is filtered down to her carers during their training. “Our ultimate aim is to enable our clients to be healthy and happy in their own homes, for as long as possible.” Charlotte builds a real bond with clients – she’s even taken 25 for a free Christmas lunch, pre-Covid, and plans to start this up again this year, all being well.
Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
Willows Home Care specialise in supporting those living with Alzheimer’s, and other forms of Dementia, in their own homes. Charlotte, having first hand experience with her own family member, understands challenges that arise as symptoms progress, not just for the individual but the whole family. If you are a full time carer for a family member, we can cover that necessary ‘you time’ in a slot of your choosing. “We pride ourselves in our ability to improve quality of life by pursuing the interests of our clients,” Charlotte says. This could include; arts and crafts, music, jigsaws, games, gardening, walking, scenic drives, cooking, perusing photo albums, bowling, reminiscing and more. “It is important to our carers to find the perfect place for an outing that they know their client will enjoy.” Observing wildlife is also popular, accompanying your loved one through local parks, countryside, or maybe a trip to Ribby Hall. “A cup of tea and a slice of cake at a café is always a nice way to end the visit.” See their Facebook for even more!
