After 27 years as a trade supplies manager, Ian Riley (above) turned his long-standing passion for property maintenance into his own business three years ago. Since then, he has steadily built a loyal local customer base, with much of his work coming through repeat business and word-of-mouth recommendations.
No two days are the same for Ian. You might find him repairing shed roofs, decorating customers’ homes, mounting TVs or building flat-pack furniture. He also carries out a great deal of garden maintenance.
“It’s a varied job which I absolutely love, and I meet lots of interesting people,” says Ian.
For added peace of mind, Ian is a member of the Safe Trader Scheme, is DBS-checked and is Checkatrade-approved. He takes great pride in being honest and reliable. “It’s so important to arrive on time and do a great job.”
Ian offers a wide range of services including wallpaper stripping, bungalow gutter cleaning and repairs, fence painting, tiling, door adjustments, hanging shelves and curtain rails, pressure washing and all minor property repairs. He is particularly proud to take on the smaller jobs that some tradespeople are reluctant to do. Ian also works with a number of local landlords and estate agents, including Dewhursts and Moving Works.
