It’s a family business now as scaffolder Mick Lee is joined by son Charlie. He managed to weather the Covid-19 lockdown and is keeping busy, helped by the former Priory High School pupil, who is 21.
Mick works for some of Preston’s best construction firms but will also help householders carry out those difficult jobs on your home exterior – and keep your scaffolding bill down. “We offer a cheap, efficient and safe service. We’re very competitive,” says cost-conscious Mick, 48, who has 32 years in the trade and twelve years running his own business, trained as a scaffolder after leaving Penwortham Priory High School himself and worked for scaffolding firms around Preston before branching out on his own in 2013.
A Construction Industry Training Board advanced scaffolder, Mick erects alloy tower and tube scaffolding, for domestic and commercial work. He carries £5 million public liability insurance and does free surveys and quotes.
His average cost for three sides of a semi-detached is about £550.
Clients include Walker Windows, Dewhurst Builders, Redman and Bispham Ltd, both of Ashton, and UCLAN on behalf of Ashton Joinery.
