You’ve every reason to trust appliance repairers Nick and John Cowell – they’ve been doing it for more than 30 years.  Not long ago they took on the work of well-known Garstang repairer Mark Passmore after a motorbike accident left him unable to continue. 

Nick, 49, who’s been in the business 29 years, is helped by father John, 75, who’s done it ‘all his life’ and spent many years working for Philips (now Whirlpool).  They do not have a call-out fee, and offer a 12-month warranty on all repairs.  “We’ve learned that the main thing is to be courteous and to make the customer feel comfortable and at ease with us,” says Nick.  “We will diagnose the fault, work out the price of repair and leave the decision entirely up to the customer. If they don’t want it repaired, there is no charge.”

They repair electrical appliances including washing machines, tumble driers, dishwashers, ovens, cookers, ranges, hobs and extractor fans, but do not do refrigeration or gas.  Nick said they aim to respond the same day or next day and work out an hour’s time slot that is best for the customer.

He relishes a challenge. “We see different people every day and it’s great to get a new fault occasionally to put in the memory bank!”  Clients include local estate agents, Dewhursts.
