Quite simply, you will not find another garage like this in Preston. Mechanic Jason Jeynes sold his house in 2018 to buy his boss’s business and lived on site until finding his financial feet.
He worked seven days a week, hugely increased turnover and introduced novel features to enhance the garage’s already good reputation. Six years later, he has many hundreds of appreciative customers, and has established himself as an unforgettable character. Plus he’s given work experience to vulnerable youngsters through the Prince’s Trust.
“Enter as a customer, leave as a friend” is the motto on his front counter. “I do like getting to know my customers, I’ve always got the time of day for them,” he says. Jason, 39, who had worked at the garage since 2009, has continued former owner Ray Walsh’s policy of coming out within the hour to customers stranded on their drive. If your car cannot be fixed, a recovery vehicle takes you to his workshop.
Jason employs mechanic Steve to help him service and repair all makes of petrol and diesel cars and vans. The garage is a brake and clutch specialist approved by LUK Clutches, one of the world’s largest suppliers, and offers customers a courtesy car, with a free collection and drop-off service.
Jason takes pride in advanced diagnostics – “I don’t like being defeated, I will tackle anything.” Ashton Autos has fixed price servicing and is a founder member of the Good Garage Scheme, with excellent client reviews on its website.
Key innovations by Jason include an on-site MOT testing bay, which has proved hugely popular with both new and existing clients.
Ashton Autos give a 14-day reminder for your MoT test. Commercial clients include Pinnacle Loft Coversions, Redman & Bispham, Thompson Electrical and Hanover Dairies. The garage is open 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday-Friday and 8.30am to 12.30pm Saturdays.
Jason and the team look forward to welcoming you with a smile.
