Broadway Pharmacy with Cure Clinics is right at the cutting edge of modern pharmacy and a dream come true for former Ingol pharmacist Sarah Elliott.
At the start of 2022, she went to join her brother Mark at the transformed Broadway Pharmacy in Fulwood – and has not looked back. “Our vision is to provide quality healthcare and efficient clinical services to you and your family,’ she says. ‘Here at Broadway our team’s main focus is the patient and we pride ourselves in offering services that GPs cannot easily provide due to their time restrictions, from blood pressure monitoring to vaccinations.”
Sarah, 36, has also been impressed with the 24-hour access to medicines – popular with late workers and people worried about Covid – and the “amazing” free delivery service which aims to bring medicines to your door quickly and efficiently. She added: “I’d been at Ingol for 13 years and wanted a new challenge. It was appealing to work with my brother and I’m really enjoying being here.”
The pharmacy is owned by Michael Ball, whose drive to offer face-to-face health care won many new patients in lockdown. The clinic’s transformation goes much further than renovations. Staff have had enhanced training to offer a wider range of services – including managing many common illnesses. “We are the first port of call,” says Michael, “We are very accessible and can quickly accommodate face-to-face care. We have upskilled to offer diagnosis and management of common acute illnesses such any ear, nose and throat presentations. Mark is a fully qualified prescriber and our expertise is to triage. Where we can solve the problem, we do so, or signpost to the most appropriate service.”
