Electricians David McGuigan and Stuart Clark are switched-on guys – now in their fourth year of business, with a very good reputation building up. Combining professionalism with friendliness, they brim with enthusiasm as they explain how they aim to do a high quality job at a competitive price in as efficient a timescale as possible.
Take the machine held by Stuart (right), a wall chaser which cuts channels for electrical tubing. “It avoids unnecessary damage to plasterwork,” says Stuart. “It makes the job a lot cleaner and speedier and things are easier for the plasterer afterwards.” On their approach to the small jobs often shunned by tradesmen, such as new sockets or light fittings: “We plan a day around doing small jobs so if we’re doing, say, six in a day, it’s a cost-effective day or we’ll do a small job at the end of a day.” David, 35, who has grown up in Penwortham, and Stuart, 37, bring 35 years’ combined experience in the trade and are long-time friends.
Having worked for well-known building firms, both ended up at Lantei Compliance Services Ltd, which specialises in electrical testing and related remedial work. “We got to a point where we said ‘let’s do this ourselves’,” said David. “Slowly and steadily C&M Electrical have accrued multiple customers through hard work and dedication leading us to develop a small team of electricians.”
They joined checkatrade.com just over 12 months ago and have 137 positive genuine consumer reviews. Work includes ‘lived-in rewires’ done in one day with minimum mess, where they use a team of electricians and organise a plasterer to tidy up afterwards. They provide quotes within 24 hours. “Everyone says how fast we get back to people,” adds David. Clients include LJF Developments, Dewhurst Builders, Horsfield Building Services & NTN Contracts.
They cover all aspects of domestic, industrial and commercial work and have recently become qualified EV installers for electric car charging points, with sister company EV Lancashire Ltd.
