Hard-working landscaper David takes pride in his work – as seen in this extensive porcelain patio.
He was tasked with doing one section at this countryside barn, then asked back to complete the second half (pictured). After five years, he has expanded to take on an apprentice and has a strong order book. He has also branched out into realistic artificial grass in addition to his paving, turfing, brick and stone work. The grass has a 10-year guarantee against UV damage.
David (with apprentice Calem Whelan) left 25 years of secure employment and his job at a big driveways firm because he wanted to spend more time with his young children. “I wanted to be self-employed for ages but never had the courage,” he says. “I worked away from home a lot and having the children made my mind up.”
David, 52, once managed eight men for now-closed Cottage Garden Centre, Bamber Bridge – so he wants jobs to be just right. “Attention to detail is important. I take a pride in my work and the finished article.” With a wealth of experience, he also installs drainage, builds walls and lays flagging.
David aims to offer keen prices and good value for money. “I’m conscientious, I keep the job tidy and I enjoy the work! I’m reliable, give people a timescale and stick to it, weather permitting.”
He tackles any size of project, including big landscaping jobs.
