There are no problems for roofer David Dilworth – only solutions.
He should know how to fix things – he’s been doing the job for 57 years and his two long-serving roofers have each worked for him for more than 30 years.
David says: “There are plenty of roofers out there, some are cheaper, some dearer, but none better!”
“When we do a job, we do it right and we don’t need to return. We give people peace of mind.”
David began at 15, training with his father Albert and his son, Ed, hopes to carry on the business, though David has no wish to stop yet. “I love this job. I’ve never got tired of it. I like helping people and I like solving problems, especially if people have had bad experiences.”
Dilworth’s do anything from one missing slate to full-re-roofs, including slating, tiling, leadwork, flat roofs, roof repairs, guttering and fascias.
He responds promptly to genuine emergencies. His expertise is in demand and he often accompanies Lancashire County Council surveyors to help them diagnose problems.
Dilworths do work for councils, churches, schools and colleges but most jobs are within a few miles of Longton. They are in the Federation of Master Builders and are CHAS and Constructionline accredited.
