Divine Signs Ltd

Nothing is too much trouble when you get in touch with ‘Team Divine’, expertly led by husband-and-wife team Paul and Jo Murphy. With a wealth of experience in many aspects of vehicle and commercial signage, Divine Signs Ltd has grown over its 18 years to become the go-to place for many tradespeople and businesses alike—some of whom even feature in this very book.

Starting out from Jo’s Ford Transit Connect in 2007, the business began to grow, and in 2011, Paul left his air conditioning business to focus fully on Divine Signs. The team currently consists of five members, including Paul’s sister, Andrea, who serves as the office manager, making it a true family affair.

For Jo, signage has always been a passion first and a job second. Having started out at Blackburn College on a ‘Sign Writing and Creative Lettering’ course, she worked for various printing and signage companies before deciding to start her own business in the local area—and she hasn’t looked back since. “I built my business purely by word of mouth. People saw the quality of my work and my attention to detail, even back then,” says Jo.

Ex-Carr Hill High student and Freckletonian Paul, saw demand grow to the point where it became clear that the right time had come to join the business. With a background in air conditioning and a keen interest in DIY, Paul joined at a time when they were looking to improve their site in Wrea Green.

Their impressive workshop, just a stone’s throw from The Grapes pub, prides itself on having a ‘climate-controlled workshop’. “Even when it comes to partial wrapping or applying graphics to a van, we follow six different processes before we even apply the vinyl,” says Paul. “Our unit is air-conditioned to ensure the work is completed to the highest standard, and that longevity isn’t affected.”

All their printing and workmanship are carried out at their base in Wrea Green, which has expanded over the years, enabling steady growth as word has spread about the quality of their craft. Their tagline, ‘We know the value of consistent delivery’, speaks to their impressive 5 star Google review score. They also boast an impressive website that showcases just a snapshot of the work they do.

Alongside their partial wrapping and vehicle graphics, they also specialise in commercial, educational and business front signage, as well as window and wall graphics and digital print work. “We offer the whole package; we care about our customers, and they come back. We like to think we’re approachable and make sure we don’t use any confusing technical jargon when meeting with clients. We talk things through and ensure people are happy,” explains Jo.

From the moment you get in touch, their process is made easy by the fact that Paul often visits the site in person before heading back to the office to put together a quote. If needed, they also offer design work as part of the process and ensure you’re happy with the proof before proceeding with the quote.

Feel free to call or email—or, if it’s easier, pop by their welcoming office, where you’ll be met with a friendly face and a hello from their beloved dog, Bailey.
