At 38, Scott Iddon has already spent more than two decades helping people choose the perfect fireplace – and his friendly, down to-earth manner makes the experience every bit as warm as the fires he sells. Together with his partner Katy, Scott runs Fylde Fireplace Gallery in Ansdell, a family-run business where customers are welcomed like friends.
Scott’s connection with the trade is rooted in his upbringing. His father worked for British Gas in the 70s and 80s before opening Gas Style in Preston, where Scott went straight from school to learn the ropes. With his brother Stuart, a Gas Safe and HETAS registered installer, he gained years of hands-on experience. So, when the chance came to take over Fylde Fireplace Gallery in 2020, it felt like the natural next step.
The showroom today is full of inspiration, with gas, electric and solid-fuel fires alongside marble, limestone and granite surrounds. In 2023, Katy joined Scott after taking over their former supplier, and together they now design and manufacture bespoke surrounds to any specification. “We can now create a fireplace to a customer’s exact specification,” says Scott proudly. With top brands like Contura, Clock, ACR, Charlton & Jenrick, Stovax & Gazco, and Evonic on offer, the busines covers everything from supply- only to full installations by its in-house team.
