The family firm, founded by Vicky’s mum, Sheila, has every type of flooring – modern, traditional or simply different. You can trust their service and expertise – they have been supplying businesses and homes for more than 60 years.
“We pride ourselves on our customer service,” says Vicky, “from start to finish and after–sales. This is a family business and we treat our customers like family and friends – in fact we recently went to a customer’s wedding. All our fitters have been with us for 10-plus years and we are very much based on repeat business and recommendations – we even have three generations of customers coming to us, from grandparents to grandchildren!”
They supply mid-to-top-of-the-range carpets, luxury vinyl tiling and wood-effect flooring such as Karndean and Amtico, natural flooring such as coir and seagrass and cushion flooring.
As well as home flooring, Gainsborough has always done a lot of commercial work, supplying carpet tiles and safety flooring to big organisations from Lancashire County, Blackburn and Preston councils to UCLAN and the NHS.

Carpets
- Wide variety of mid and top-range quality carpets, including Brintons, Axminster, Cormar and others. The showroom has hundreds to choose from.
- Jacaranda luxury carpets and rugs, all hand-made by craftsmen in places like India and Nepal. They are 100 per cent wool and natural fibres and can be shot through with silk. Alternative Flooring, designer-led and quirky patterns such as spots, zebra and geometric designs. Also does ‘Make Me A Rug’– where you can put together fabrics and edging to design a unique rug plus a big Naturals range in materials such as seagrass, coir and sisal.
