Pet owners will travel to see a good vet – just ask Paul Thomas, who sees clients from all over Lancashire.
Along with three other veterinary surgeons and several nursing staff, Paul provides exactly what you expect your pet to receive when visiting. Clients travel from afar for the expertise and personal touch of an independent practice – he and wife Jill, practice manager, run the only family-owned vets in the Longridge area. “We are not governed by a corporate office,” says Jill, “so can proceed openly, fairly and reasonably for every aspect of veterinary care from vaccines to complex surgery – that’s one reason clients move to us.”
The practice offers advanced keyhole surgery for neutering dogs, which means less pain and faster recovery. “It’s popular,” says Jill. “People travel a long way for it.” She said pet owners wanted a vet who was honest with a blend of surgical and medical expertise, that is what our vets do.”
Paul has a general practice certificate in surgery with an interest in orthopaedics and cardio/ respiratory care. He says the practice prides itself on individual care – “as we are a small practice, clients normally see the vet they want. My passion is to help people and their pets – we go out of our way to do this.”
