Friendly Mark Bridge can cope with any plumbing job – big or small. One moment he’s installing bathrooms and heating systems in a large luxury home at Hutton, the next moment he’s fixing a leaking tap or broken toilet.
Plumbing runs in his family – he’s done it since leaving Penwortham Priory High School 38 years ago. Mark, 54, (second right) has been on his own for 19 years, with smaller domestic work accounting for the majority of his turnover. “We’ll do anything from leaks and power-flushing radiator systems,” he says, “through to heating upgrades, boiler and cylinder swaps and installing bathrooms and wet-rooms.“
Mark is now a Worcester Bosch Gold accredited installer, which means he can install a boiler which carries a free 12-year guarantee. Another specialism is installing underfloor heating. “We try to do a job right,” adds Mark. “Our standards are pretty high and we like to think that we do a better job than most.”
Mark employs Gordon Hollings and Steven Houlihan. A lot of his work comes via word of mouth and local builders such as Ash Joinery.
