Aerial engineer Mark Yates is moving with the times – with Wi-fi now on his list of services.
Mark, with 41 years in the trade, and business partner Jonathan Titterington are up to date as their industry embraces satellite and digital changes. Now they also tackle Wi-Fi signal problems, installing boosters to strengthen signals in big houses or outbuildings, commercial properties and even caravan parks. Yet the two partners also retain old-fashioned values – of honesty, value-for money, customer service and respect for people’s properties. “We’re old school,” says Mark, 60, who trained at a Garstang electrical shop. “We chase out the plaster, put the sockets in and hide the cables nicely, which other firms don’t do.” Jonathan, with a mere 33 years’ experience, came to fill in for Mark 17 years ago – and stayed.
Together they cover all aspects of radio and TV aerial installation, repairs and fault-finding. They put up wall mounted TV s and, if required, set up televisions by tuning and explaining how they work. They also install multi-point aerial systems around the house and will put in extra telephone points.
Much work is domestic, but they also have commercial clients.
