It is this family-run business’s 75th anniversary – a testament to the quality, commitment and service you will receive from each of the Websters and their staff. Formerly J Webster & Son, a trusted name for many decades, people travel many miles to their well-stocked showroom at the former Horns Garden Machinery site, which they bought six years ago. “I’ve been around this business all my life,” says director David Webster, “My parents and I have nearly 100 years of experience and we have the ethics of a family business – we always try to look after our customers.”
Mowerpower sell, repair and service all types of garden machinery, petrol, electric and battery, from hedge cutters, chainsaws, strimmers and mowers through to commercial machines and ride-on lawn mowers for bigger properties. Robotic mowers and battery power tools are proving especially popular, thanks to recent advances in technology. They are main agents for nearly all the major manufacturers – they deal with 25 brands including Stihl, Westwood, Hayter, Mountfield, Mitox, Atco, Stiga, Ego and Echo.
“We stock a vast range of products,” says David, “backed up by 5,000 spare parts and the servicing expertise which goes with that.” Many new machines come with a servicing discount, and Mowerpower will collect any larger machines that cannot be brought in by customers. Servicing is carried out in their own workshops.
They cover all the way up to Carnforth and Bentham, to Longridge, Ribble Valley and down to Chorley, including the Fylde coast. Customers include caravan parks, local authorities, large country estates and even Kirkham Prison.
