Plasterer-turned-renderer Paul Perkins transforms the appearance of homes and businesses. Paul, who has 19 years’ experience, uses a rendering system from paint-makers Johnstone’s. “This comes in a choice of 200 colours and is waterproof and self-cleaning, so you don’t need to decorate it for 15 years – low-maintenance is what people want these days,” says Paul . “It is also guaranteed through Johnstone’s for 10 years.”
Fully trained in plastering and external wall insulation, friendly Paul, 32, from Fulwood, and his staff, do mainly rendering, including pebbledash, brick-effect render and one-coat render, which is cheaper but needs painting. He offers a variety of products but prefers the Johnstone’s system as he believes that it ages the best.
Paul is a Johnstone’s approved applier and is also British Gypsum approved. He adds: “We’re reliable and we get the job done fast and cleanly.”
From the Midlands, he met a Preston girl and has lived here for four years. Much work is thanks to word-of-mouth recommendations and growing contacts with builders across the Preston area.
Work ranges from large commercial projects to domestic porch fronts.
