Wanting a trustworthy company who will choose to “repair over replace” when possible, saving you your hard-earned money? Talk to Tom Collins and Jake Bretherton at PGL.
The ex-Penwortham Priory students have worked for the company for a combined total of 30 years, taking over in June 2020. “We’re doing exactly the same as we’ve always done,” says Tom. “We’re eager to work and we want to grow.”
They repair, replace and maintain double glazing and conservatories, and try and prevent you having to buy new windows by looking to change handles, hinges and locks – saving you money!
Tom and Jake fix leaks with confidence – one of the few businesses to offer such a service. Jake says: “We find a leak and repair it for good, at competitive prices and beat most quotes for the same quality products.” Rather than smother a leak with silicone, they remove a panel, renew sealing tape and re-fix the panel. In severe cases, they replace a conservatory panel or glass – even the whole roof – with Heatguard panels which keep the heat in during winter and out in summer.
They work with aluminium products such as windows and bi-folding doors and also install and repair uPVC doors, getting them to work like new. Composite doors are a speciality – they are an approved installer for Doorstop and Rockdoor. PGL also does glazing, including fixing misted windows, and uPVC such as soffits, fascias and guttering, including storm damage for insurance firms.
PGL installs a SupaLite tiled roof system which fits easily on to existing conservatory window frames.
“It makes your conservatory into a valuable extension of your home that can be used all-year-round,” explains Tom. The system has insulation between the tiles and the conservatory, and comes with a 10-year guarantee. Jake says “it meets all Building Control criteria to qualify as a proper room and life expectancy is 60 years.
We’d be pleased to make an appointment to visit and show you how it works.” There is a choice of tile or slate colours, tested over The Atlantic in extreme weather. They sort all internal plastering and electrics.
