Heating engineer Rick Murch is in high demand – he’s been flat out since branching out on his own two years ago. “I just wanted to work for myself and it’s gone really well,” he says. “I’ve had a lot of great feedback from customers.”
Former Broughton High School pupil Rick, 33, trained as a plumber before opting to specialise in gas He is Gas Safe registered and has a wealth of experience in boiler installations, central heating, gas fires and multi-fuel stoves.
Rick has set prices for boiler installations in the average house. These are £2,200 for a combi boiler swap and £500 more for converting an older heating system into a combi, using a Baxi boiler. “There is movement on the price,” he say, “but only for the type of boiler – a Worcester-Bosch would be a bit more expensive. I only like to fit very good boilers.” Friendly and polite, Rick adds: “I’m professional, approachable and I work to a high standard. I also offer great after-care if anything arises after a visit.”
Rick offers installation, repairs and annual servicing for his areas of expertise. He also does checks for landlord safety certificates. He still does a lot of work for his old employer, Gas Style of Ashton, where he spent 12 years.
