Septic tank specialist Andy Graham is busier than ever.
With many people now working from home, his services are needed more frequently. Andy is so busy he took on Liam Tingle, 26, in 2019 and Nathan McManus, 28, in 2021 to cope with the increased demand. “We’ve had to buy a new tanker and we’ve got four now for different jobs,” says Andy, who has many domestic clients around the Penwortham area. He is always enthusiastic about his work. “I love it. I enjoy driving in the countryside, visiting lovely houses and meeting people – no day is the same.”
He offers a full ‘shift it’ service for septic tanks and treatment plants – “anything that involves what has happened after you flush your toilet”. He’ll empty tanks, carry out installations and maintenance, plus he empties fat traps at pubs, hotels and restaurants. He also does reports for property sales. The ex-ferry chef joined the firm in 2005 and took ownership in 2007. He has four tankers up to 4,000 gallons in size.
Cheerful Andy, 46, aims to offer a reliable, friendly and professional service. Clients include Thwaites Brewery, GSU Landscapes, Whitestake, and Flavourfresh Salads, Tarleton. He is licensed by the Environment Agency to dispose of liquid waste.
