If you’ve got a dripping tap or leaking pipe, Stuart Baxter is pleased to take your call. “If you keep customers happy, the small jobs can lead to big jobs,” says Stuart, a plumber for 15 years.
An ex- pupil of Tulketh High School, Stuart, 47, was a machine operator with Plumbs upholsterers for 14 years, training as a plumber at Preston College in his spare time. In 2007 he chose redundancy to set up on his own and has never looked back, training to go Gas Safe registered in 2012.
Mild-mannered Stuart offers services ranging from central heating installation and power flushing to installing showers, repairing pipework, underfloor heating, moving and installing radiators and thermostatic valves.
He also unblocks drains, sinks and toilets, and clears, repairs and replaces guttering. Stuart offers full bathroom installations such as this one – he learned plastering and tiling from his father, a plasterer – and can also work with LPG bottled gas.
Clients include businesses on Roman Way industrial estate and pubs including Plau Gin & Beer House, Friargate; and The Continental next to Avenham Park.
He also installs and services gasboilers, fires and cookers and is in the county council’s Safe Trader scheme.
