Don’t wait for the soot to fall – give Andy Whiteside a call. You’ll get a cheerful, friendly service and the expertise of a third generation chimney sweep as his grandfather started the business in 1950.
Andy is supported by his wife Becky, who’s personable approach reflects the values of the family firm.
He is a member of The National Association of Chimney Sweeps and can provide certificates on completion of work. He carries a variety of brushes for both manual and power sweeping. Work undertaken includes the sweeping of all solid fuel appliances (e.g. stoves, open fires and agas). Should you have a bird nest that needs removing, Andy has a wealth of experience, although this can only be carried out after nesting season has ended. “Anybody can buy a set of rods and brushes,” he says, “but it’s a real skill to extract the soot from the chimney while keeping the house clean. There’s no mess – we don’t do mess.”
Andy covers the majority of Lancashire, with Preston and South Ribble key areas and he emphasises the importance of regular chimney sweeping, to help to prevent chimney fires.
