Plasterer Dave Hinds knows all about perfect finishes – he used to spray-paint cars for a living.
For the last 19 years, the ex-Hutton Grammar School pupil has applied his skills to plastering – and has never been out of work, even through recessions and alike. Friendly Dave, 39, trained and worked with local builders until 13 years ago when he took a holiday to plaster a terraced house – and never went back as more work flooded in. Dave has built his business via word-of-mouth, working for home owners, builders, building surveyors, landlords and kitchen firms. “Quite a lot of people come back to us and recommend us because we do a good job for a good price,” he says.
Working all over the Preston area, he is helped on bigger domestic and commercial work by plasterers he trusts. His work can range from a patch repair to full house plasters in new-builds. He does dry lining, coving work, Artex removal as well as external renders such as stippled finishes, pebble-dashing and decorative, coloured render.
Dave promises to offer ‘upfront, honest advice’ and makes a point of sticking to his quotes except where he has forewarned customers about the possibility of extra costs.
